Hair Ironing

Posted by Ria Shoppingera on April 15, 2010.

March 26 – 28 were the dates of the biggest poker tournament of the season. Of course I had to look fab. Problem was on Day 1A I went straight from the airport to the house then to the poker club in the span of 1 hour. I managed to look good with my nice purple lace dress and multi-strand black and gold necklace.

People said very nice things about my dress and my look. However, my hair and my face were a big mess. And they were just too polite to point that out.

So on Day 2, I woke up extra early put on my light daytime/all day make up and headed to the salon. I picked the Hairs and Nails, Bodies and Faces Salon.

After about an hour of pampering, lookie….

I had my hair ironed as I always do when attending special occasions. I find that this suits my long, black hair perfectly. Hair ironing makes my hair straight and fall into place properly even if I’m out and about for a long time.

I’m one of the lucky few blessed with nice, long black hair that keeps in place most of the time. I just have it ironed to be sure that it does stay in place for a long period of time. I have it ironed when I attend events, weddings, or during occasions when I know I’m going to be photographed a lot.

A lot of people iron their hair everyday. I don’t. I tried doing that. And I didn’t like it for a couple of reasons. For one, it was too cumbersome to blow dry and iron my hair everyday. And more importantly, doing it everyday cause dryness and brittleness in my hair. This can usually be remedied with the use of conditioners. But I can’t use conditioners because it would then make my hair super oily.

Hairs and Nails, Bodies and Faces Salon is located along Duterte Street, Davao City. You may reach them at +6382-305-3401.

Both outfits are by SOUL Lifestyle located at the 2nd Floor of Gaisano Mall of Davao, JP Laurel Avenue, Davao City.
